We arrived in Calgary in late July from our home in Cayman Islands, and our family life, a memory past, a vision forward and a welcome present like a long hug, began again.

We are grounded no longer on a hill in the middle of a forest, but in a condo with a view of Calgary all around us. We are city folks! And surprise, we like it here with the bustle of the city pulsing the air with noise and action. It is strangely invigorating.

Perhaps one seeks a balance in life. When raising six kids, we found that chaos was balanced by the calm of the country surrounding us. The forest, the chickens, dog, cat and the odd mouse sneaking in and the odd hamster sneaking out were the respite we needed then to keep a steady mind.

Now in our senior years, Lady Justice, who holds those balance scales, has tipped them the other way. The calm lives we lead on a Caribbean island need a dose of the pressing action a city brings to keep our minds – if not quite so steady, then at least perking along nicely.

And now we resume the old adventure, this time with a whole lot more family to keep the adventures flowing. Let’s see what happens next…
